Gold, myrrh, and frankincense

Does Catholic tradition have any beliefs regarding whatever Mary and Joseph did with the gifts of gold, myrrh, and frankincense?

I 've always believed that they sold them and used the money while they were in Egypt.

Does the Church have a stance on this?

If I recall correctly, this gift is a foreshadowing of Jesus’s death, as frankincense and myrhh were used in embalming and the preparation of bodies, and the gold would have been used for the funeral arrangements. Assuming as such, it would have been kept to be used at his death.

Not exactly correct as to their significance.
Gold was because of His royalty - He is the King of Kings.
Frankincense is because of His divinity - He is God.
Myrhh is because he was born to die - Used for burial.

I doubt that the Church teaches anything about what they did with the gifts…at least I’ve never heard anything about it.
