thanks everybody for your help. i just wasn’t sure about what to do. in islam you have to enter the masjid with the right foot and step out with the left. you never touch anyone with the left hand, etc. i just didn’t know if there were any kind of rules like this in catholicism.

No just general respect! Now if she takes you around and shows you inside the church, she most likely would dip her fingers in the holy water as she enters the Church and make the sign of the cross, and if you both walk up towards the tabernacle she most likely will genuflect towards the tabernacle.

You don’t have to do this also…

Hopefully she would explain to you why she did what she just did, and if she doesn’t don’t be afraid to ask her.

You know a lot of cool stuff.

Yeah. Catholics have a lot of little tricks like that, too: entering the Sanctuary right-foot-first (but hardly anybody does it any more), genuflecting on the RIGHT knee to the Blessed Sacrament. But you don’t have to worry about that stuff. half the Catholics you’ll come across are clueless as well!

If you have the means to have it reversed “yes”…
However many don’t have the means to get it reversed.

Reversals cost a LOT of Money. The Church will not make you go into debt to have a reversal. (A vasectomy reversal is not usually covered under health insurance and can be costly: between $5,000 and $13,000, depending on many factors.)

Now if you have NEVER been baptized or had an invalid baptism then it will be forgiven at your baptism.

IF you have been baptized and it was/is a valid baptism then you would have to confess the sin in confession.

Please note that reversals don’t always work and can cause (serious) related medical problems. As I understand it, reversals are not required of those who are seeking to convert. See Ask an Apologist, as this has come up before.

Yes I know… I didn’t mean to give everyone the wrong impression.

I was trying to say, that if you have the ability and the means you should prayfully consider it… not just blow it off.

Of course everything has to be accounted for, money, health, risk etc.

Maybe these were one of those moments it was better if I kept my my mouth shut…or took more time to read and re-read my post before posting.

the visit went well. there wasn’t enough time to answer all of my questions and some she just didn’t know the answer to. so i will be visiting again next week with her and fr tom. but i gotta go get ready for mass.this will be my first mass, so we’ll see how it goes
