I’m not sure if this the right sub-forum to post this, but I figured I’d post this here as I want Traditional Catholic sources.

Does anyone have any good sources that present a basic overview of, and intro, to the current crisis in the Church? As well as defends some of the controversial aspects of the crisis, like Archbishop Vigano’s reliability, or the fact that the vast majority of the abuse was homosexual?

I want Traditional Catholic sources
I think you’re misunderstanding the purpose of the “Traditional Catholicism” sub forum. It’s purpose is to have a sub forum to discuss the traditions and customs of the Catholic Church.

If you want a traditional Catholic source for information then try the Pope and his authorized offerings.

If you want opinions from a Catholic who describes themselves as a traditionalist then I can’t help you.

Crisismagazine.com— Run by Sophia Institue, is less of a news source than a journal of excellent and orthodox articles.

Lifesitenews.com- daily reporting on the Church and the culture wars, will feature news stories you probably won’t see in mainstream media.

Lepanto Institute is another good one that comes to mind.

National Catholic Register: EWTN runs this.

So, what you are saying is you want material that supports your current opinions rather than challenge them? You want sources that validate your world view, essentially.

Can you blame a person for being tired of the way the mainstream/secular media reports on this crisis?

It has nothing to do with a ‘world view.’ It has everything to do with facts. And the facts of this crisis don’t get reported in secular sources, and even some Catholic media.

Well if the problem with the Church is the current leadership and their response to the sex abuse crisis, maybe having media sources outside the control of the bishops is a good idea. For example, when Cardinals like Blaise Cupach suggest that climate change is a bigger problem in the Church and in the world than how Pope Francis responses to allegations that he is protecting accused sex abusers because of their political beliefs and behavior, it is hard to take this Cardinal or any Bishop and their newspapers seriously on the subject.

I didnt’ read him say anything about his opinions or his world view.

I forgot a couple:

TheCatholicThing.com and FirstThings.com.

The Catholic Thing and Crisis Magazine feature regular writing by Fr. George Rutler and Fr. James Schall, two of the best writing priests in our time.

Other writers like Anthony Esolen and Mary are featured there often, too.

Read the OP. The poster wants sources that explain the situation from a certain POV, one the OP seems to endorse.

going to the websites that have been mention can radicalize you like I have been. People are very articulate about what has happened and what is going on. I don’t really know how they find out these things, like about the convicted perverted priest in Idaho that was urinating in altar wine.

You just have to spend an hour and track down the various websites. In facebook, there are some groups called Catholics who Care and Catholics against the Lavender mafia. They will often (daily) link articles from those other sources that will help you visualize the rot in the Church.

In a week you will be up to your ears in articles.

Church Militant is doing good work in this area. Lifesite News and EWTN especially Raymond Arroyo also. You should check out Twitter as there are many individual Faithful Catholics that are fighting the good fight like Taylor Marshall.
