Good book for a Baptist?

Uh…the Bible? (Catholic version, of course.)

He was one of the few who made me more aware of the Bible.He had a tendency to quote Scripture and i couldn’t satisfactorily answer back.I started asking priests for answers and discovered he wasn’t as well versed as i had previously thought.Another workmate,who had been a Lay Preacher when he was younger,
helped to draw my attention to that.

My friend, Jesus is God. He came down from Heaven and became a man to pay the price for your sins. He has no need for a place called purgatory, because He did it all! It only required ONE SACRIFICE, not yours in purgatory. Ask Jesus into your life to be your Lord and Saviour. Once you do, you will be purged NOW of all sin.

“There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION to them which are in Christ Jesus,” -Rom. 8:1

I have a Baptist friend who i worked with many years ago and we still exchange Christmas cards.Last Christmas,i sent him a copy of K.K.'s "What catholics really believe"with his card.He didn’t send me any indignant letters,but then he never thanked me for it either.I would like to send him a book this Christmas as he used to have a distorted view of Catholicism.So,any Baptist converts out there who can suggest the right book.I don’t want to send him something which will seem like a blatant attempt to convert him.

I think Scott Hahn’s conversion story would be best. It isn’t hostile. It is his testimony about his reasons to become Catholic. I also recommend, the Biblical Basis for the Catholic Faith by John Salza (founder of scripturecatholic.com ) and I also recommend Scott Hahn and Leon J. Suprenant’s Catholic for a Reason.

I am pleased to report that i did get my Christmas card from my Baptist friend.In addition,i sent him another book,though i didnt take Allis Chalmers advice about which book to send.Thanks to you all for your contribution.
