Hi CA Community,

Can anyone recommend a good book describing other religions? I mean a good book that one might find in a Catholic bookstore.

Someone older than me said to read up on other religions.

Thanks,
Ben

Two classic books on Judaism which I read many years ago are:

“To Be a Jew,” by Rabbi Hayim Halevy Donin, which focuses on Orthodox Jewish beliefs and practices, and “Basic Judaism,” by Rabbi Milton Steinberg, which integrates the beliefs and practices of several movements within Judaism. The first is more comprehensive in scope from the Orthodox Jewish perspective, while the second is a more concise appreciation of the general tenets of Judaism. Both can be understood and enjoyed by non-Jews as well as Jews.
