Good Book to Lead Evangilical Christian to catholicism?

I want to give a gift this year to an evangelical, baptist woman that would encourage her to investigate the Catholic religion. Are there any good books such as a personal conversion story or why Catholicism is a religion to convert to that is written for this purpose?

Is she someone who would actually read/look at/consider whatever you give her with an open mind?

I ask because there is someone I know who is absolutely closed minded. He would probably just pitch anything I tried to share with him.

How about a subscription to This Rock magazine?

I have not read any of Marcus Grodi’s books yet but do listen to him on radio and television. He was very instrumental in my return from protestantism, so I would suggest any of his books. He has several out for protestants considering the Catholic church. What is great is that he has been there. Here is the link to his store:

A book to consider is Evangelical Is Not Enough by Thomas Howard; it particularly addresses the need for liturgical worship.
 
Or a book by Scott Hahn. That said, as someone currently on the journey from Baptist to Catholic myself, the best book is you. Invite her to Mass?
 
’Catholic and Christian’ by Alan Shreck, it is also written for other Christians to explain the Catholic faith and for Catholics to better understand their own faith.

Yep…I almost have an Anglican…gave a Navarre I choose it as he is really into patristics…the Nav is more patristics heavy if you have an Anglan than say…ignatious…👍
 
Before you gift anything, I would suggest treading lightly - how would you react if she approached you with a book that she felt would turn you from Catholicism to Baptist?

That being said, the two books that helped clarify the issues I thought I had when I felt called to the RCC are “Rome Sweet Home” by Scott and Kimberly Hahn and “Born Fundamentalist Born Again Catholic” by David Currie. The former gave testament to the journey ahead of me; the latter justified that journey by breaking down the most common barriers a Protestant has in their hearts that prevent them from entering the Church. David Currie and the Hahns both do an excellent job of evangelizing without being “in your face” about how Protestantism is flawed.

I would suggest the approach of “wow, I didn’t realize how different our beliefs really are, these books really showed me”. And they really are interesting reads, no matter which of the churches you feel loyal to.

If you got the $$$$$$$$ I would think that the Catholicism Series by Father Barron would be a good gift. The first 4 episodes are not totally overly Catholic but they are there trust me. It really helped me. The series is great for understanding of the early church plus the production value is amazing…just food for thought .
