According to Jesus, no one is good but God alone. (Mark 10:18)

I saw that post…at least one version of it by @Psychae…and it was aimed at me.

It’s one thing to claim one is more Catholic than the pope…or any person at all…and no one has done that here, but @Psychae uses that sort of tactic to derail the conversation.

It’s another thing to point out that we’ve had good popes and we’ve had bad popes and it’s not the act of a rational Catholic to stick their head in the sand and pretend that serious and increasingly bad trends aren’t occurring (weekly) and that the current pope seems to be acting in a way - deliberate or not - it’s up to God to sort out - that exacerbates the heat, division.

He elevated a priest to bishop status - against the recommendation of the countries’ bishops - who had serious accusations of sexual abuse lodged against him.

This is the act of an imprudent person, one who doesn’t respect the bishops appointed by another pope!

I don’t think this thread is about you; the OP noted that his username is good Catholic, a term that appeared in the other thread.

I see that the other thread was closed. Good. One such thread was more than enough.

Indeed it is true that all goodness comes from God, and we have not anything to boast of.

Can you advise the country concerned and point to media article(s) reporting the accusations of crimes?

If the Bishops’ conference in Chile came to a conclusion so strong that they protested TO THE POPE concerning the pope’s intention to elevate of Barros to Bishop, AND he ignored them, then I think there’s a problem. But thanks for your question.

elevate of Barros to Bishop,
Was that post directed to me? I just sought to identify the person & country involved. Thanks. Was their protest to the pope reported / public?

No. What is it about people who see the world as revolving around themselves.
