Hello! I’m searching for many good documentaries, be they about medieval history, ancient history, french revolution, interesting aspects of science, or popes, early christians, socrates, archaeology, odd true crimes (not too gory though), ancient culture of greek, rome, jewish, medieval culture, biblical documentaries, king henry who did something to the Church (I don’t know, I want to find out though), witch-hunting, crusades. Or any interesting, intellectual documentaries of any kind.; Just shouldn’t have any anti-Catholic or graphic stuff.

If anyone knows of any, please share.

King Henry VIII…

He couldn’t get an annulment, so he took control of the English Church by declaring himself it’s “Supreme Ruler”.

This was a great TV documentary series:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarchy_(TV_series)

It covers these events in an episode, but also gives a great sweeping view of general Royal history.

Some of my favourite documentaries are:
The Fog Of War(Robert McNamara discusses his time as Secretary of Defense in the Kennedy Administration)
Jesus Camp(A 2006 documentary about a controversial pentacostal religious camp)
Koyaanisqatsi(a famous nature documentary set to music by Phillip Glass)

Two great music documentaries:
Standing in the Shadows of Motown
The Soul of A Man(About the history of the “blues” style of Jazz)

That looks nice, thanks.
I’ve also found BBC’s science documentary “Wonders of the Solar System”.

Where Did The Bible Come From? A DVD set from ChurchMilitant.TV A very good documentary on how Scripture was compiled and interpreted. Has an accompanying booklet by Simon Rafe and a talk on “Why Does Bible History Matter?” By Michael Voris.

“Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” which is an argument as to why we should teach Intelligent Design in public schools.

ANY good documentary on biblical archaeology??? Please!! I’m reading Werner Keller’s archaeology book “The Bible as History” and would like some visuals to go along with it!!!

Ken Burns has some great documentaries focusing on US history - I loved his on the Civil War, the development of the US National Parks, and Prohibition. I believe has has one on baseball as well. If you don’t mind something USA-centric, they are very interesting!
