I would appreciate some advice. I’ve been talking to a Jehovah’s Witness on another website for some time now, and he has begun to seriously investigate the Catholic Church. He lives in the Dayton / Trootwood, Ohio area, and he asked me if I could refer him to a Catholic priest in the area. Does anyone know of a good, doctrinally sound Catholic priest in Dayton that would be available for him to speak with and discuss the Catholic faith? This is a situation in which I think the right priest could make all the difference. I know that St. Joseph’s Church and Emmanuel Catholic Church in Dayton offer the Latin Novus Ordo, so that’s a good sign, but I’d appreciate some specifics if anyone had them. Any details about their RCIA programs would be welcome, too.

I will help bump this up although I have not been back to Dayton for years. Grandma used to take us to Corpus Christi, a good Methodist keeping her promise to my mother to take us to Catholic Mass. When she was in assisted living in Trotwood we went to Precious Blood Convent when we visited her. We also go with relatives in Huber Hts but I don’t recall the name of the Church, near Wright field.

Hi,

I’m new to the forum… I attend Emmanuel in Dayon and do think that it is one of the most orthodox parishes in the Dayton area. But for a GREAT priest for RCIA, I would recommend Fr. Mondiek at St. Peter’s Parish in Huber Heights (Close to Trotwood). Father Mondiek is from Emmanuel and is VERY orthodox and VERY good. I would check out the website for St. Peter to get contact information for Fr. Mondiek and the parish.

I also checked with a few friends at church tonight (All Saints party for the kids…) and they agreed that Fr. Mondiek was the right priest.

God bless!
