Fans of rap music should definitely listen to this fantastic album. While this album is explicit, which is a negative thing, the explicit words serve a purpose to tell the incredible spiritual story Kendrick Lamar is telling. Throughout the album Lamar constantly tells the negative effects of drugs, alcohol, and gangs. The album has an amazing story which tells a story in Kendrick Lamar’s life about how he transformed from a person always looking for revenge to a person trying to make positive influences on others. In the story, Lamar and his friends meet a woman who tells them to turn to God, and changed Lamar’s life forever.

This album made a huge impact on me, and I recommend others listen to it. It is a rare combination of an album with a great message, and fantastic music.

Also, Individual songs should not be taken out of the context of the album, Backseat Freestyle especially may seem very sinful, but it leads into The Art of Peer Pressure, which talks about how the Kendrick Lamar in Backseat Freestyle was that way because of the Peer Pressure which we should avoid.
