I have read a blog on a webpage from a Dutch newspaper, where a psychologist says human beings are monogamous after all. Translated, it goes something like this:
  • These days a lot of people cheat on their spouses, and because of that people think that people cannot commit to one person, but is just a simple excuse however.
Even the contrary, Because of the pain and sorrow it causes when people cheat and divorce is a proof that people are monogamous. Human begins are the only ‘species of animals’ that need monogamy to make themselves and his family more adult.

Another thing is that, almost everyone is feeling worse when they had a onenightstand than before, this is known as ‘postorgasmic depression’ The ‘cuddling hormone’ that is created is meant for people to create a bond between people and when this isn’t continued, a human being is plagued by guild and selfdespise.

Of course the temptation is there, but the fun will only last for a ver short time. Even when people ‘need’ others in a period of their life, but WITHOUTH EXCEPTION everyone is looking for that ONE special person, especially when people want a family. Because of the bond the bond a family creates, will help make people cope with all of the problems life has.

The blog continues with some more, but this is the most important of it. Great to see that everyone who thinks we are animals and therefore not monogamous, are (almost) proven wrong.

The emotional evidence you mention is also reflected in the human body, which releases certain chemicals during sexual activity that tend to attach a person toward the recipient of that sexual attention. In other words, the body tends to want to attach to that recipient rather than have fleeting escapades.

This is awesome! Even those who try to claim “we’re just animals” have to admit that mating for life is not unheard of in the animal kingdom. I’m not sure what the stats are, but I know at least that there are some species of parasites and birds, for example, that do mate for life.
