Good news on my sister--re: annulment, etc!

I’m happy to share with you, that my sister told me that she went to confession last night, (I guess she had not been going for a while) and for those of you who know ‘her story,’ she finally has considered thinking of looking into the annulment process.:yup: It’s still sad that her marriage ended, but at least, she is considering that perhaps her marriage was one that never should have been. I think she has a hard time with this, because her and her ex were married for over 25 years, and have two great kids. She told me that she feels uneasy about everything, and that she cried a lot last night. But, I told her that sometimes confession can be liberating and freeing…to get to that liberating feeling, one has to hurt a little. Avoiding confession is never wise, because one can never heal from what ails him/her then.

She’s on her way. I just wanted to share. I am thinking of giving her a book on the annulment process…I remember someone here talking about ‘The Marriage That Never Was,’ but can’t remember the author.

Oh, and I don’t want to bombard my sis, but for those of you who were given a declaration of nullity, and came from long ‘marriages,’ I’d appreciate any advice you can give me, to pass on to her. I think her reservation is that ‘annulments are for people with short lived marriages.’ That is her thoughts on it. Please advise. Thank you!

That is awesome news Whatevergirl! I was married 13 yrs to my ex and really had no problems with the annulment…Hope she has the same luck as me… and I come from a diocese that it is hard to get annulments!
