Hi Everyone!

Here’s a little good news to share… about the community, The Daughters of the Heart of Mary.
  1. They just had a postulant made her entrance into the Novitiate
  2. They also had one sister make her Perpetual Vows
I think this is good news… especially with the low numbers of women/men entering communities these days (compared to years ago).

I love this community. So, apparently, do my female students. They do not need to live in a convent, do not use religious titles ( I had Miss P. and Miss D visit my kids), have never worn a habit, continue to work at their own jobs, which become, once they take vows, the Sister’s ministry through obedience-and they are still consecrated religious. Anyone teaching in a Catholic school: please book the DHMs for a vocations day. They are a dynamic and spiritual and joyful group of women. They also outlasted the Communist abomination behind the iron curtain (good guys won).
 
Interesting concept, thank you for sharing it. I did notice their web site heavily focused on social justice (racial, economic, peace and so on). Not necessarily bad things obviously. Is this group orthodox theologically (i.e. completely loyal to the church’s teaching)? If so, they certainly have a calling that may be appealing to many.
 
I have not heard anything from this group that suggests heterodoxy. I would give them the green light.
 
About the DHMs and Orthodoxy.

They are a pontifical group which means they report into the Pope. And they support all the teachings of the Catholic Church.
