Is this good news?
I am not all that familiar with the American publications not being in the U.S.

Is this not a paper that is quite “liberal” in their interpretations of church teachings?

It appears to me they are afraid of what the Holy Father is doing. It appears this is the “reform of the reform” that His Holiness has been referring to the last couple of years.

Thoughts?

That publication is notorious for dissent. The comments are the bottom of their editorials provide some interesting reading.

That publication is absolute trash. The only thing it is good for is to get some really great laughs.

NCR is “trash” as you say but then again so are a whole bunch of other liberal rags.

Sorry if that offends some people.

okay, so - if the publication is famous for dissent, then if they are nervous and upset about PB XVI’s direction, that is a good thing, correct?

“Disagreement and error among men on moral and religious matters have always been a cause of profound sorrow to all good men, but above all to the true and loyal sons of the Church, especially today, when we see the principles of Christian culture being attacked on all sides.” POPE PIUS XII

I agree witht the above posters. NCR exists to sow dissent, division, and confusion in the Church.

The substance of what they write, the honesty with which they write, and the intent they have in writing it, are all suspect.

Forget that NCR exists.

I remember immediately after the Pope’s Butler was arrested, NCR was protesting over his arrest as an “injustice” and claimed he was being tortured in medieval fashion. Right…

I’m sure NCR makes great kindling.

This has already been stated… but, NCR is just trying to create dissent and controversy… as usual. They oppose anything outside of their “anything goes” kind of Catholicism.

Nothing unusual about the article. Progresives have been saying the same thing ad nauseum since the 60’s with the arrival of the new springtime. I’m glad to see that the Holy Father is trying to rectify some of these erroneous attitudes.
