Good quality entertainment for 17 month old?

Ignoring all the TV debates, because sometimes momma needs a break or little tyke is not feeling well.

I suggest Curious George. I find that my little kids are inexplicably drawn to it. Something about a monkey that doesn’t talk, makes pre-verbal relate to that show. It is the only show my kids just don’t walk away from. It is short, educational, and cute.

They would watch them over and over and I could get a ton of stuff done. They are songs with actors acting out what they are singing about ex: My mommy comes back. Always assuring the kids that when mommy leaves she comes back. They loved them and so did my mom when she babysat, she said they were so soothing.

Oh! Mine like the leapfrog ones, too- also on Netflix. You can figure out which are better for younger (ie colors/phonics vs. math/spelling). That was around 2; she knew all her letters by then, and we were beginning phonics. At 3 1/2 she now can read!

A 20m show was how I got a shower in the morning, since she was “safest” and least likely to get into anything during that time! 🙂
