Good, short audio explaining Catholic doctrine to protestants?

So my protestant dad just sent me an audio program by William Lane Craig on Catholicism. See here:

reasonablefaith.org/what-about-catholicism

It was only about 15 minutes long, and just hit on two issues without a lot of depth:
  1. Justification
On this topic, Craig briefly recounts the doctrine enunciated at Trent, and takes issue with the idea of good works meriting eternal life. In his view Catholics, in practice, are closer to protestants on this issue than Trent would suggest. He doesn’t actually mention any arguments against the Catholic doctrine of justification
  2. Mary
Craig expresses discomfort with popular devotion to Mary, mentioning in particular the prominence of statues to Mary (and the numerous candles) in comparison to Christ, and the tendency to focus on Marian prayers. He says that doctrine is on more sound footing than popular practice would suggest, though, in making it clear that Mary is not equal with or greater than Christ.
(I somewhat understand where he’s coming from here regarding popular practice)
So anyway, I think he owes me a listen to some Catholic material now 🙂

Is there a good defense of Catholic doctrine, or conversion story, that you would suggest?
Ideally 30 minutes or less, focusing on these two issues, and available as a free download.

John Martignoni, who is heard on Catholic Answers and EWTN has a number of very good audio tracts for free at biblechristiansociety.com/home.php. You’ll want to go through them and select the one’s that address the issues pertinent to your discussion.

Google Lighthouse Catholic Media. I used to get their CD of the Month for $5 a month. They had a lot of great resources.

One of Professor Kreeft’s videos was uploaded to Youtube a few weeks ago that would address all of those points. It’s pretty short. He describes his conversion story from growing up Protestant and then converting to Catholicism.

The entire talk is about fifty minutes long.

Professor Kreeft is actually an excellent Catholic analog to Dr. Craig. He also is a philosopher of religion. His argumentative style is far more humble and gentle, though. He has become my favorite speaker on matters Catholic, with Fr. Barron coming in second.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Despite my request for an audio program, I now plan to point him to section 3 of this writeup by Jimmy Akin, as it focuses specifically on the issue of merit, and what it really means:

Regarding some of the suggestions: I had heard good things from a close friend about both Audio Sancto and the Institute for Catholic Culture, but haven’t listened to many of their materials. I guess I didn’t expect that their materials would be as geared toward apologetics as, say, Jimmy Akin, John Martignoni, or other Catholic Answers crew.

Thanks for the links to the Peter Kreeft videos, Rete. I’ve listened to a number of his talks, and greatly appreciate the depth of his thought, and his humble style as you mention (though Craig was anything but proud in the program I linked to). I had not yet heard Kreeft’s conversion story though.
