It used to be that Google returned search results based on their relevance to the query and the popularity of the site. Now, it seems, websites may be suppressed if Google doesn’t like their opinions.

Seems like Google is taking lessons from Communist China.

In some ways we all created the monster Google because it was free and returned great search results. So eventually it has killed all competition.
I’ve tried to use alternative search engines but I always gravitate back to Google. But going elsewhere may be the only way to break that power.
 
I use Goodsearch, which gives a small amount to the organization of your choice for each search. It seems to work quite well for me and I’m looking things up all the time.
 
I don’t remember what I was googling a couple of weeks ago, but it was in regards to a conservative matter and it kept giving me the liberal websites and their viewpoints.

How can conservatism ever survive in the world of the future?

Funny how things come together. I was just directed to a book titled “Lord of the world”. Written by a Catholic priest over 100 years ago, it is an anti-utopian novel that describes much of what we are dealing with today. I just read the first chapter, but can recommend.

I just googled “jihad”. Jihad-watch does appear on the front page.
