Gospel Acclamations

Howdy. 2 questions…

1. Anyone know of a resource for finding suitable musical settings of the gospel acclamations (Alleluia, alleluia, etc…)? I know of the GIA “Gospel Acclamations”, but are there any others?
2. This one’s really a long shot… On EWTN back in the day (mid 90’s) when the nuns attended and sang for mass at the smaller chapel, there was a particular gospel acclamation that has for some reason stuck with me over the years. It was particularly triumphant and glorious and the nuns really belted on it. Anyone remember it? I know this is pretty vague, but I was probably 15 when I heard it and it has never left my head.

There are truly many beautiful Gospel Acclamations that are used in the Holy Mass. I couldn’t tell you what you are looking for, but my suggestion is to talk to a priest or, probably for effectively, a choir director. I myself know of a Gospel Acclamation that has stuck w/ me for years, also.

The book Respond & Acclaim (available at ocp.org/products/RA-081 ) has musical settings of the Responsorial Psalm and Gospel Acclamation for every Sunday and holy day of obligation for the entire liturgical year. It is published once a year and begins with the first Sunday of Advent (December 2 this year, Year A of the liturgical cycle).
