I am an atheist raised in a catholic environment. I have two small children (6 & 4) that I am raising as atheist as well. I would like however to teach them the story of Jesus Christ. My motivations are the following: I want them to be informed when they interact with Christians, it will help them better understand the society they live in, and finally I do believe the teachings of the Gospels, even without the faith, are valuable for children.

I am looking for recommendations of books and/or videos appropriate for those ages that present the story of Jesus as faithfully to the Gospels as possible and as consistently with the historical context as possible. Thanks.

Any children’s Bible should be just fine for this. You can find one in any large book store that has a children’s section. If they don’t have them in stock, they can certainly order something for you.
