Gospel for 7/9/2014

I never noticed this before about this particular Scripture, and was wondering what other’s thoughts might be on this: Jesus gave all Twelve the authority to drive out unclean spirits, including the traitor Judas. Could that relate to why some people who are in other sects or other religions are able to assist in healing miracles? In some cases, could it be that God cares more about the benefit of the healed than the heart of the healer?

Just looking for some other thoughts on this.

Matthew 10:1-7
“Jesus summoned his Twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to drive them out and to cure every disease and illness. The names of the Twelve Apostles are these: James, the son of Zebedee…and Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus.”

Luke’s Gospel has Jesus appointing 70.

***After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to come. **(Luke 10:1)

The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” (Luke 10:17)*
