Please go to the following link and read in Matthew, Chapter 28, verses 1-15.

drbo.org/chapter/47028.htm

Now, my question is, during our readings of the resurrection story at Easter time, why don’t we ever seem to use this version.

I know Matthew was writing to the Jews, does this come into play as to the preferred version that we use at Easter ???

I was just curious as I normally don’t see this version/account read…

Thanks all !!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

we use the Gospel from Matthew at the Easter Vigil, Cycle A, v. 1-10 (cycle B the corresponding account from Mark 16:1-7, Cycle C Luke 24:1-12). the Gospel for Easter Sunday during the day is from John’s Gospel 20:1-9. On Easter Monday the gospel is the rest of your citation, Matt 28:8-15.

You don’t hear it from the DR because the NAB is the translation used for liturgy in the US. (NRSV in Canada).
