Went to the first GospelGrass festival of this year and thoroughly enjoyed it, as usual. For those who don’t know, GospelGrass is a Music Ministry that brings the word of Our Lord around the country through bluegrass music. The ministries are generally large families with home-schooled kids who travel the country most of the year attending to nursing homes and other situations where people can’t get to church regularly as well as revivals and festivals. They are usually home-based at a church which lends them financial and spitiritual support, financial support also comes from donations at the festivals.
These are non-denominational and they truly don’t care what denomination you are, everyone who shares a love of Our Lord is welcome. There are some groups that tend toward some testifying which makes me, as a Catholic, a bit uncomfortable because I’m not used to it, there is also a fair amount of preaching which we all can use. Yes, I realize the Bible quotations may not be, probably are not, Catholic, so what, the impact is just as great and this is not a formal Liturgy.
To any GospelGrass brethren out there, thank you and God bless.
