I didn’t vote for him but but I’m sure glad he won.

His daily press conferences are informative and display a Statesman-like demeanor I find it very comforting.

He looks at the info available and determines what increases risk of spreading infection and what decreases it, and immediately takes action in favor of the latter. He doesn’t drag his feet on it.

To the State legislature…
“But I’ve said this before, I’m done playing politics. I’m not going to do any political dealing of this or that or what bills should be on. This is way past any of those things. We need everybody to get with the program. We need to do what’s right for our people. We only need the necessities right now. The budget, and if there’s anything specific you want to do to help with the coronavirus, do it. But I will tell you, I’ve already declared a state of emergency. We have a lot of flexibility and I’m going to use every single bit of it.”

From his Sunday press conference.

" Sunday, March 22

5:29 p.m.: Gov. Andy Beshear announced Sunday that all non-essential retail businesses will have to close by Monday at 8 p.m. He said that will not include grocery stores, liquor stores, pharmacies or gas stations, but will require clothing stores, sporting good stores, florists, book stores and similar businesses to close. He also announced that healthcare providers will be required to stop elective procedures; this had previously been a recommendation, but Beshear said non-compliance on the part of some healthcare providers required this to become an order"

I like the move. People linger too long in stores where browsing occurs.
