How do I go back to following the churche’s teachings? I got married too young and after 3 years … we got separated which made me question everything I always thought to be true. I wanted to “experiment” and so I did… Now I have a baby with a man I am not married to and I have almost nothing in common with. Staying together for the baby is the right thing to do right? and what about my ex husband? aren’t we still married before God’s eyes? Am I condemmed to live in sin forever?

we all have the same remedy, we visit the priest in confession, be totally honest about our past sin and current manner of living, and follow his pastoral counsel, and end the sinful behavior.

No way to answer questions about the validity of a specific marriage here as each situation is unique. Make an appointment to visit the priest outside confession to discuss your marital situation and what you can do to return to the sacraments and get right with the Lord. There is immense grace and peace waiting for you and your family when you do this.
