Glory to Jesus Christ!
I went to Bridegroom Matins this evening at our Greek Orthodox proto Cathedral as I have in past years. It’s a 15 minute trip instead of an hour to the Russian Church I normally go to for Matins/Vespers when my parish has none. Today was especailly poignant as there was news this morning that the “outside walls and ground of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension tagged with a giant swastika, profanity and other racial epithets…” Thanks be to God nothing was immediately evident tonight from that terrible occurrence.
It was a beautiful service as always. It’s sad so few people manage to go. This church has pews so it’s somewhat awkward feeling for me. I was happy that a number of people got out into the isles for prostrations, so I felt free to do the same.
I managed to get back to my Latin parish at the tail end of the 4 parish reconciliation service there and was able to receive the Mystery from a priest I’m very fond of going to for confession and reconciliation.
Great Lent has again gone by so quickly. Great and Holy Week is such a wonderful time. May you all be richly blest during these days.
