You need to write to Broomberg and not me. I only read it from a good source. Also, it is not the point that some churches are crowded in Europe. The point is that many catholics are not attending Mass. France, Ireland and Italy stand out as poor attendance catholic countries. The figures in France speak for themselves.
Your information is incorrect, and I would appreciate it if you would stop this nonsense and concentrate on your own church’s attendance, which is certainly dwindling because they are converting to Catholicism, the church founded by Christ. There are more converts to Catholicism than ever before.
I wouldn’t trust Bloomberg, how would he know as a Jew, how many attend Catholic church anyway? They would like you to believe this is happening, when in fact it is just the opposite.

Dude, why do you keep singling out Irish?

Mass attendance in France is about 14%

In Italy, it’s about 30%

If you average the results of the two surveys done in Ireland a couple of years ago, one a poll done by RTE (the national broadcasting company – 48%) and the other a report done for the Catholic Bishops from the European Social Survey - 63.4%), Mass attendance is just over 55%. While that is a decline from prior years, it’s still better than Mass attendance or MORMON sacrament meeting attendance in the United States and is one of the HIGHEST rates in the world.

The Irish mass attendance has been helped by recent Polish and Lithuanian migrants. But my Irish sources have told me that Mass attendance took a hit with the Priest abuse scandals.

This whole thing started on this thread when I said that this video needs to be shown to those american catholics who don’t attend Mass. I thought that it was a nice thought on my part. 🙂

But why are you so concerned with the attendance at Catholic Masses when you aren’t even a Catholic? What is the reason you care so much that it brings you to say false information?
Shouldn’t you worry about attendance say, at your own churches? Why not take a poll at your own churches?
And anyone who says they won’t attend Mass because of the priest scandal, never really wanted to go in the first place. It is just a cop-out and we all know that.

The child sex scandals should not make a difference. The Lord Almighty did not come down and do this himself, or I’d be atheist. It is an excuse for people not to go to church. If this was the case, www.reformation.com will tell you hundreds of Protestant ministers who have had sex abuse going on in their churches, and I don’t hear anyone saying they are leaving them. You want to know why? Because it isn’t Catholic. Because it is never heard of, they are always covered up, it doesn’t get press like we Catholics do. People now a days bash anything there is to bash about Catholicism. Seems they have a deep rooted jealousy or something with the church that Jesus founded.
The sex abuse was wrong, but it was relatively small compared to the other religions including Judaism. Catholic church still has the lowest sex abuse around. It shouldn’t have any, but to put it this way is to show how the other religions have it going on more than we do.
