Just wanted to post about the great experience I had with confirmation this week. My nephew was confirmed at The Cathedral of St. Paul. First it was an honor that my nephew chose me as a sponsor. Second, the Cathedral is amazing! I suggest anyone who lives within a reasonable drive go to mass there once and take the tour. I could spend hours there.
My nephew was an easy young man to sponsor as he is naturally very curious and intelligent and was doing extensive reading and studying to prepare himself for confirmation. He was so into learning that it almost made my job too easy! Very proud to have sponsored such a great example of a young Catholic man.
Also, I would like to report the the Church is live and well in MN, 300 kids in this class and there were something like 3-4 other classes of similar size previously. So, this year alone I think the Archdiocese confirmed in the area of 1200-1300 new Catholics and our numbers are rising. Seems like the average parish is confirming about 25-30 kids per year in the Archdiocese and I know our parish in the New Ulm Diocese had about 20 kids (pretty good for the size of our parish).
