Great Video on the Blessed Sacrament!

I don’t know if this would belong in this forum or not but I just saw the best videos on YouTube on the Blessed Sacrament!!

I got chills. It is set to the song “I Can Only Imagine”

That’s a good one too. I’m glad we have some Catholics out there who post these videos! They make me want to go out and find a church with perpetual adoration immediately!!!👍
 
Our Father works in such mysterious ways…I spent my beautiful Friday afternoon as usual in Adoration at my parish. (What a gift I’ve been given!)

Unfortunately, there weren’t more than 10 people there today (in all the 3 hours it is made available). However, I was feeling very low when I got home because I dozed off for a few minutes today. I didn’t sleep well last night and I guess it caught up with me this afternoon. I felt so guilty for doing this. I always do my best to avoid falling asleep and manage pretty easily.

Just now, I came upon your post and viewed the video links. My…I didn’t know I could hold so many silent tears of joy!! I feel so much better now. When the video started I felt my heart begin to pound with such love for Him. Having watched both videos now, I know I didn’t hurt Him by dozing off those few minutes…His mercy is so much greater than that. Thank you so much my sister and brother for both links. I’ve added them to our favorites folder and we’re going to watch them tonight as a family.

God Blesses us every minute of every hour of every day… ❤️

I’m so glad I found the video with “I can only imagine” I love that song and I have it on my iPod in my car so now, thanks to the wonderful gift of a photographic memory that God gave me, every time I listen to it I can see the parts of that video. It makes me remember that God is always with me.
 
I really dislike that song. As pretty as the melody might be, it goes against Catholic teaching…

I think some people might miss the meaning of the video…the “director” is trying to refute the lyrics of the song. He says so when he says “stop imagining”.

As pretty as this song is, I really dislike it because I think it goes against the Catholic Church…think about the lyrics…

We do WAY MORE than imagine at every single mass every day, and at adoration. We are surrounded by His Glory at Mass… we are in His presence at Mass…we don’t have to imagine.

Now before people jump on this, I get what the guy is singing about…heaven. But lets think about it… we have heaven on earth at every Mass. I think that this song can do damage to faith if people think thats all we can do. Thats why I like the video… I kinda wish he would reverse the lyrics throughout more of the video so people can see it.

I know… I’m a party pooper. I just really try to listen to lyrics closely. It’s quite catchy…just a little off.
 
I (think) I understand your point but I believe he’s telling *those who are not Catholic * to “stop imagining” because we receive everything in heaven right now at every mass. When you stop and really think about this and if you allow yourself to, you can have an intensely spiritual; fulfilling experience (I’m at a loss for the right words here, help 😦 ) at mass…over and over-----it never gets old!. You can feel the saints among us, envision the angels and our Blessed Mother. With the glory that is present at every mass for our sake, how greater could we honor Him beyond asking that our unworthy selves be united with Our Father at that very moment? What love He has for us!

The song is copyrighted yes…That version is by Mercy Me (I don’t know who wrote it).
 
I put this link in my youth group’s newsletter. I hope they explore the beauty of it. Thanks for the tip.
 
I actually used a bit of this song with a picture of the Blessed Sacrament. The tag line was…

Why is it you can “only imagine” when you can look Jesus in the face right now?

I usually like to think of the song as what being in His presence in heaven will be like. When I listen to it in the car or at home I think about how lucky we as Catholics are to have Jesus truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. Reminds me of how thankful I should be!!
