Today is the feast day of St. Adela of Normandy, who was married to the richest man in Europe, mother of one of the Kings of England, used her wealth to endow many churches and monasteries as well as support arts and culture, and ended her days in a nunnery which she joined after all the kids were grown (and presumably after she no longer had to rule vast estates while her hubby was off leading the First Crusade).

She was obviously incredibly well off, and still became a saint.
