Kurt I. Lewin, whose father was Lviv’s last rabbi and who would later become a renowned businessman, and David Kahane, later chief rabbi in the Israeli Air Force, were both harbored by Sheptytsky in Lviv.

Later in their lives, both men would write about their experiences, Lewin in “A Journey Through Illusions” and Kahane in the “Lvov Ghetto Diary.”

The three boys that were saved by Hieromond Daniil in the monastery in the small village represent three life stories, very different from each other. They were born in places far apart; fate brought them together in Uniow; and after the war went their separate ways, rebuilding their lives in three continents – in Israel, the United States and Poland.

I found this list of Righteous among the Nations, ( Russian version of wikipedia ) mind that the list was compiled by Jews , and Ukrainian are among those who saved the Jews most.
