I will be attending a Greek Orthodox baptism for a baby. I know just a very little about the Greek Orthodox. What kind of gift would I give to the parents (child) for the baptism? For a Catholic baptism I normally give a cross or something from the Catholic store that I go to. Any suggestions?

A cross would be fine, but I would think that the baby would be getting a lot of those, including from the godparents. My son got a wall cross that was nice.
An icon would be nice. Besides the obvious of Christ or the Theotokos, one of the patron saint or of the day of the baptism would be nice. Also one of the major 12 feasts.

The Ukrainian Catholics have a little blue book called something like “the Guardian Angel” book. Its a liturgy book that’s very nice for children (most Orthodox have a copy. The dirty little secret: most Orthodox use books printed by those under the Vatican). There’s also books like “Bless, O Lord,” prayer books translated from Orthodox countries.

Then there’s also Children’s Bible’s, many of which are now gueared (e.g. the illustration) to the Orthodox.
