Hey all,

I am about three weeks away from finishing Mounce’s Basics of Biblical Greek. I thought it was fantastic and can’t wait to continue study in the “intermediate” level. I have the Grade Reader of Biblical Greek on order. I know that Wallace, Greek Grammar, Beyond the Basics is the next in this series. Any feedback on this title? Or is there another resource I should be looking at at this point? Also, what about a good lexicon to explore, not just the grammar, but the nuances of meaning in the Greek vocabulary? Mounce has one, but it seems more of a grammatical analysis rather than a breakdown of etymology and cultural interpretation of the word, etc.

The BDAG lexicon is the thing to go for if you want in-depth nuances of the Greek as used in the NT and early Christian literature. Expensive though, around USD140.

Another reference should be “A Grammatical Analysis of the Greek New Testament” by Zerwick/Grosvenor.
