Greek Word?

I don’t know where else to ask this question. There is a word in Greek (I believe it is from the Epistles) that means “distance from God,” or “estrangement from God,” or “feeling far from God.” It’s something like edonia, or adonia, or…something like that. I read it in a book last summer; if I recall correctly, the author was talking about the desert fathers. Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about? This has been making me insane for a week now. HELP!!!

  1. makran (G3112), properly a feminine form of the adjective above, denotes “a long way, far,” (a) literally, Mat_8:30, RV, “afar off.” Luk_7:6; Luk_15:20, RV, “afar off”; Joh_21:8; Act_17:27; Act_22:21; (b) metaphorically, “far (from the kingdom of God),” Mar_12:34; in spiritual darkness, Act_2:39; Eph_2:13, Eph_2:17.   1. makran (G3112), from makros, “far,” Mat_8:20 (KJV, “a good way”; RV, “afar”), “a long way off,” is used with eis, “unto,” in Act_2:39, “afar off.” With the article, in Eph_2:13, Eph_2:17, it signifies “the (ones) far off.” see FAR and WAY.
  2. makrothen (G3113), also from makros, signifies “afar off, from far,” Mat_26:58; Mat_27:55, etc. It is used with apo, “from,” in Mar_5:6; Mar_14:54; Mar_15:40, etc.; outside the Synoptists, three times, Rev_18:10, Rev_18:15, Rev_18:17.
  3. porrothen (G4207), “afar off,” from porro, “at a distance, a great way off,” is found in Luk_17:12 and Heb_11:13.
    Note: In 2Pe_1:9, muopazo, “to be shortsighted,” is translated “cannot see afar off” (KJV); RV, “seeing only what is near.”

These may not be what you are looking for, but sin is a separation from God so they would have similar meanings. I’m not so fluent in the Greek either so I probably misspelled the words a little and I don’t know the Scripture references to these either.
