Green and Red Scapulars?

Hi Melodeonist,

The only time that I take my scapular off is for showering/bathing.

Otherwise it can come apart like you found out.

If it’s glued, you can glue it back together.

I have reinforced the ones that were sewed with just a quick little piece of needle and thread through the top of the string and the panels.
 
Many Scapulars sold in religious stores are not made well and will quickly break or bleed on your clothing, especially if they get wet with shower, bath, rain water or even your own body sweat. I have been a scapular failure many times over the years because of this. I recently took up wearing the brown one again and in order to do so, bought several scapulars from a website specializing in robust scapulars, and even then the scapular is still showing wear so I will likely end using making my own heavy duty models.

As others have said, your understanding of the Briwn Scapular is incorrect. One does not have to be “sinless” to wear it. I recommend you check past CAF threads on scapulars.
