Green fuel from carbon dioxide

Setting aside the matter of commercial viability, I see another major problem. One of the criticisms of hydrogen fuel cells is that mass production of hydrogen would require significantly more electricity than is used today. And that extra electricity isn’t likely to come from green sources, since coal power plants remain the cheapest reliable source of electricity.

So I am uncertain that this “green methanol” process will actually be green if you consider the entire cycle of production.
