Grieving/quenching the holy spirit?

Sacred scripture tells us " Do not quench the spirit". I know that Jesus said “he who commits blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is guilty of an eternal sin” but what if you grieve the holy spirit? Can you be forgiven if you grieve, rather than blaspheme the holy spirit?

I don’t know the meaning of quench and grieve in your question, as you interpret them. The only blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is refusing to repent of your sin, so if you are going to confession, by definition you cannot be guilty of that. Just go to confession, name your sins by the ordinary nouns and verbs that describe those actions or omissions, and if the priest needs more info he will ask.

If one says that something Good done by the Holy Spirit is done by the devil; they have blasphemed; but that doesn’t mean they have the eternal sin of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Eternal includes perpetual repetition…

Grief means to cause “pain”; Who is strong enough to bring the Holy Spirit to grief?
It says somewhere that the Holy Spirit groans within us with groaning beyond words to the father;(Paraphrase…perhaps someone else will remember and find the verse)
but if The Advocate and Spirit does that in us, then I doubt it needs to be forgiven – rather, I expect it needs to be listened to.
