Yes,we want ground zero building discussion. We would LIKE to hear many Muslim condemn this hate. Or does it prove Islam is a faith of hate? If not , we would like to hear it. Many Muslims talk about many topics in this forum, but so far ,deaf silence.

If a practicing Muslim, he or she follows the Qu’ran and hadiths. You can find them on the USC.edu website. These texts are loaded with calls to kill nonMuslims, deceive them, and never have them as your friends. Jihad Watch’s Robert Spence uses this site as one of his sources on Jihad Watch. As Catholics we should be sympathetic to those who’s faith is abused by extremists, imposters and charletans. Whilst 9/11 was a Tragedy I see no reason to persecute or apportion blame to muslims in general, depriving them of their right to practice their faith - or restricting their places of worship unfairly based upon the misguided actions of a few extremists is not a fair thing to be doing.

Indeed. Let’s not be intolerant.

And a truly sensitive Muslim that would not want to poke Americans in the eye with a Mosque would choose another location. So shall we consider their tolerance and thoughtfulness too, or are only WE supposed to be thoughtful and tolerant and others can do as they please?

I submit that more facts need to be developed about this situation.

That’s true. We do not try to “take over” the holiest sites of the other major religions. That’s not even our way.

But there is no Catholic Church in the entire** country** of Saudi Arabia. Were you to even travel there, you should not take a Bible because it will be confiscated at the border. The point is not that we want to infiltrate their holiest place. The point is that while they wish to make use of our tolerance at a place where 19 members of their faith viciously murdered thousands of our citizens, they exhibit no such tolerance in return ANYWHERE.

And so I repeat the challenge ~ they can build their Mosque near Ground Zero in NYC right after the Catholic Cathedral is built in Mecca! Otherwise they should cease and desist!

It’s not always about taking over (are we supposed to believe that the Mosque in NYC is about “taking over”?) Sometimes it’s just about fairness. Fairness is something that appears to be lacking in the affairs between Muslims and Catholics. It can’t ALWAYS go in favor of the Muslims. That’s not fairness, it’s tyranny. Not a pretty word, but an accurate one.

The Mosque in NYC is proposed to be built over what I have heard was once the site of a clothing store. Go back to selling suits.

My guess is it would probably be welcomed. What if Timothy was a good ole Christian boy.

i think that your challange not valid , do you know why ?

i don’t think that saudia have any interrest with building the mosque in this place , they didn’t ask that and they have no right to request that as long as it isn’t their land .
exactly as you have no rights to asking them built a church for you in their lands

after all , it’s you own local problem , enough blaming muslims of the world for everything

You know what, this is isn’t about Saudi Arabia. It’s about Islam. The “Holy Land” for Islam is Mecca and Medina and, as an afterthought, Jerusalem. Maybe they should give up Jerusalem since if you face Mecca you have to have your back at Jerusalem, yes? So Jerusalem is obviously not so important in Islam.

I only suggest a Church in Saudi Arabia be built before a mosque be built near Ground Zero in NYC because Saudi Arabia seems to be the geographical center for Islam. I didn’t make Saudi Arabia the geographical center of Islam. Someone else did. I didn’t make Mecca a holy site where people stream to visit every year. Someone else did.

I also didn’t ask anyone to build a Mosque in New York City so close to where 19 Muslims killed thousands of people.

This is a POKE IN THE EYE to those people. You would THINK that people, whoever they might be, that had concern and LOVE in their hearts would not seek to insult Americans in this way. But the Muslims who want to build this mosque have chosen to, for their own reasons. Obviously they do not care about the thousands who died at the hands of the Muslims who drove those planes into the towers.

Muslims who think it is wrong to build a Mosque in such a place should organize and put an end to it. Otherwise, silence = approval. If there are really Muslims who do not agree with terrorism (often so silent that we wonder if you exist) this is the time for you to stand up for once and tell the people who want to build this thing to STOP.
