Is not having the intent of staying in a marriage but only marrying for the sake of being able to gain citizenship a grounds for annulment?
My fiance and I were informed that he ( a non-catholic) who was previously married in a marriage of convience then later divorsed after two years needs to get an annulment before we can get married in the church.
His intention was not to remain in a lifelong commitment to this person from the very start and that both he and his former spouse knew this before they were married civilly.
