I have a St. Michael medal with St. Michael on one side and the Guardian Angel on the other attached to my St. Michael’s chaplet. My question to the world is that the Guardian Angel is depicted holding a cloth in her hands and there are two children standing near her. What is this cloth in the Catholic tradition? What does it signify?

Tradition holds that when Satan was cast out of heaven in the downfall it was Michael that fought with him and cast him down, striping him of his heavenly remnants “the cloth in his hands”. As for the two children St Michael was seen by the Hebrews as a protector of children. What is perhaps most surprising is that Michael was seen and used as an intercessor for the protection of Hebrew children 3000 years ago!
