I’m totally on board with guardian angels and I frequently ask mine for help. A friend of mine seems like she might be taking her guardian angel prayer a little to far. She has asked for her guardian angels name and has received it. She is also asking for sure signs from her guardian angel to show her signs and things.
  1. To what extent do we involve our guardian angel?
  2. Is there a risk of getting into the occult?
  3. She also is really into this thing in conyers, georgia where a lady was supposedly receiving images of Christ and turning rosaries into gold?
I like to just stick to the basics (ie rosary, chaplet, scripture, mass) I just hate for her to be really conversing with deamons who are acting as angels. Is there rules per se for interacting with the angles and or visiting these places?
    Blessings

She should be suspicious of anything the Church has not approved. If the Church investigates it, and find it to be consistent with the faith, then it’s ok. I don’t think any of what she is doing has been approved by the Church. If she wants to look into it, she should talk to her priest and see what he says. If the priest wants to pursue it further, fine. If not, then she should just drop it and do what the church has approved and stick to it. Curiosity is no good when it tries to know better than the Church. There is a reason Christ created the Church.

One thing to consider is the wise words of St. Paul who commanded us to test the spirits. If this ‘guardian angel’ will not recognise the authority of Christ then it is not from heaven.

Good luck and God bless to you and your friend.

Michael

Yes, I think you are evaluating things correctly.
I love my guardian angel.

What I have been taught is one should never ask or seek a supernatural vision in any way, shape or form. If you receive one, unsolicited, be distrustful of it, and seek the counsel of a priest.

Why never ask for one?

Well, if you ask an angel to give you a vision, you make it easier for an angel to give you a vision.

So what’s the problem?

Well, there is more than one type of angel out there.

Pax.

I don’t know what you see or hear on a Mystical level. But Guardian Angels exist, St Catherine of Sienna seen them at age 6.

If this is naturally occuring to you, I would seek a spiritual advisor. Some individuals are very gifted and the supernatural exists.

Peace, Gary
