So, we are confirming that indeed each of us is assigned a spirit guide or teacher and, in fact, they are there in the light to greet us after death, sometimes along with other loved ones who have passed before us. All his subjects, however, tell us this SG was assigned to them long ago and to others of their small cluster group of souls that incarnate with them…they play roles in their lives and we play roles in theirs. This SG may also have junior guides in apprentice training, those souls like us who are still reincarnating on earth. Our SG may also have a Master Guide who monitors him and also is brought into our cluster groups for various training sessions in preparation for our next incarnation. They are all part of an hierachy of souls who constantly monitor our progess here on earth:

We, in fact, enter into a contract to “stay” with the body when the choice is made, no matter what happens and, most importantly, not to leave early (commit suicide). We are fully prepared before we leave as discarnate spirits, but we have our own imperfections and weaknesses we need to work on and improve in order to progress to the next level of soul development. The body choices given us offer varying degrees of difficulty specific to those areas we need to correct or improve. We don’t always choose the “easiest” one. In fact, one subject had selected bodies with physical impairments or a serious genetic disease for her last 4 incarnations in order to overcome a previous proclivity towards selecting attractive and powerful bodies she had used to her own selfish advantages. She had fallen behind her soul group as a result and by selecting the most difficult bodies offered her she was able to “make up” for the lack of progress in her earlier “easy” life selections. In other words, we are given body choices which will allow us to be either indulgent or allow us to “skate”(a term used by one of his subjects) in a particular life, or we can select a more difficult body assignment which presents us with the challenges we need to progress more rapidly e.g. a physically impaired body or other “challenging” trait or temperament that would require us to “work harder” or undergo more hardships than would say a healthy body and/or wealthy and loving parents. So, the body types and the family situations (varying socio-economic circumstances or caring and nurturing verses neglectful or abusive parents) that are offered us, and the one we ultimately select, has everything to do with the lessons we need to learn and/or the karmic tasks we need to endure for us to progress as a soul. What our purpose and mission is in making this decision and coming to Earth, is an essential part of our journey in reaching our ultimate goal of our soul’s progression towards reunion with the Source, as Dr. Newton states above. It is also of major interest and importance to us all in knowing today, what we need to do to fulfill that purpose and mission here.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Everyone reports that through all of this process in the spirit world we are given unconditional and unlimited love, patience, understanding, encouragement, and NON-JUDGMENTAL assessment and correction as regards our mistakes, poor choices and the satisfying of our karmic debt (more about this later) in our lives here. THERE IS NO PUNISHMENT. No one is ever condemned or “left behind” and although some of us progress towards our goal faster than others, WE ALL WILL EVENTUALLY EVOLVE AND PROGRESS THROUGH ALL OF THE HIGHER LEVELS OF SOUL DEVELOPMENT. AND, THERE IS INFINITE TIME TO DO SO.
We are the ones who are impatient to progress and wish to do well. We are the ones who are disappointed in the speed of our progress and the fulfillment of our purpose and mission; not our teachers or guides, or even the so-called Council of Elders who monitor and evaluate our progress and help us to develop and prepare for each incarnation. With an all embracing love and eternal patience, they want us to progress and do all they can to aid us in our development; they do not judge us, but encourage and assist us in determining what we must do in each life to correct our mistakes and to develop the characteristics necessary to progress to the next level of soul attainment. It is always and ultimately our decision to return to earth or to heed or not to heed their sage advice. Much more later about others in the hierarchy now being revealed to us.

Well, I call mine by a human-like name anyway. I mean, I have to call him something, and “Mr. Guardian Angel Sir” seems rather formal. Nothing personal, Southparkmom.:angel1:

Provided our lives end while in friendship with God, we are comforted in knowing that his work with us is not over once we go over to the other side. Has a life long friend would, he will be there to give us hope and comfort while in purgatory and arrive at our last day their to lead us up to heaven.(Summa)

Usually we name things that are under obedience to us… A child, a pet… If your grandfather’s name was Larry would you feel it was appropriate to “name” him Jim? I know that’s not a great analogy, but our Guardian Angel is charged by God to watch over us… Not to be our pet and do our bidding or to be ordered around and named as if they are subservient to us. Your guardian angel has a name. If you don’t know it be content with that. I address mine , “Holy angel of God” or “Holy guardian angel” or something of the like.

Excellent point. Naming something is definately a statement or assumption of authority. Adam named all the creatures of the earth since God gave man dominion over all these things. We have no such dominion over the angelic beings - at least not at this time but the implication is that Mary and some of the higest saints and apostles will be above even the angels; no doubt why Lucifer did not want to serve and elected hell and his pride over the idea of serving lower caste humans who would elevated to divine-human status after Christ.

This is why Jesus named Saul Paul and Simeon Peter and the twins James & John “Boanerges” (sons of thunder). Abram - Abraham etc…

This is why so many people do not take kindly to others giving them nicknames or calling them names - especially those that are diminutive.

You can always ask your guardian angel for a name- and often you will be given a name in dream-most angel names(at least the archangels) end in “el”… from Elohim… Ang-els such as Micha-el, Rapha-el,Uri-el,Gabri-el…so guardian angel names like Muri-el or Dani-el are common-…just keep in mind they are God’s messengers -not ours- so always ask God to give them permission when you ask your angels for intervention or information…(((hugs)))God Bless

Hmm, with the way I have had my wires crossed lately I’d be afraid El-Al airlines would come rumbling through the neighborhood or Kal-El will come zooming through the window sporting a Superman outfit and big S. … 😛

I don’t think the Catholic Church recognises Uriel. That name is not in Scripture nor Catholic tradition.
 
Uriel was recognized as an archangel in the Church until the 8th century-He still is recognized as St.Uriel…anyway-…it is an example of 'angel names"…not a debate on Church status…I have to wonder though what in the world would have prompted a Pope to think he could erase an archangel from Church tradition honored by all Popes before him- simply because he felt too many were calling on the(then seven) archangels…since Uriel has not gone away in all this time- Divine intervention has made certain Uriel is still known and part of His Church…

Did I imply or suggest Uriel? I wasn’t about to suggest Uriel is Catholic - but this angel is in fact in the Jewish angelic tradition as are many others.

I have heard that this one is one not to be trifled with and there are some who say it may be a fallen angel since there have been anecdotal accounts of a dark foreboding presence among those who have attempted to pray to this angel or invoke his name. Very powerful and dangerous apparently - and not to be messed with.

Catholics should stick to only those named principal angels we know are safe from Church teachings - Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and of course our Guardian Angel (by role “Guardian Angel”). But its ok to address the 9 choirs of angels as a group by their choir name (Seraphim, Cheribum, Thrones, Dominations, Powers, Virtues, Principalities, Archangels and Angels).

Actually although our Guardian Angels are not "pets’ or slaves - they are very very close friends and will be more than happy to be asked to do things for us. One should feel comfortable asking them to go to adoration for us and pray or to send a message to a loved one in heaven or purgatory. I even ask mine to visit with my late wife and tell her she is still much loved and to bring her a heavenly flower every day or to thank her guardian angel for a “job well done”.

Our Guardian Angels are there for us - and we should use them as often as possible and be in a relationship with them.

…actually Uriel is the “fire of God” and seen as the bearer of Divine wisdom and Justice–I was just over on a website of Catholic Nuns and they include Uriel in prayer to guardian angels with Gabriel, Michael and Raphael… sounds like a presence you’d WANT in your corner-but I can see why it might have stuck in Pope Zachary’s craw if his flock were continuing to petition Uriel when he wanted to control them-and that’s the only reason I could find that he chose to demote Uriel- … since Angels are God’s messengers- I think it rather audacious to think God would go along with it for those reasons…anyway- apparently it falls under the catagory at this time of more personal choice as it is not a requirement of faith…

Asking one’s Guardian angel for help or this or that seems fine, but even that sentence “Our Guardian Angels are there for us - and we should use them as often as possible and be in a relationship with them.” …would you say that you use someone you consider to be a “close friend”? 🤷 You might ask them for favors but they’re certainly not yours to use.
