That is where both faith and discernment comes into place. Its really hard to tell. as you become closer to your GA, you will be able to discern His advice in contrast to your own mental reasoning. It takes time.

and Paris, from what brotherhrolf said about needing to slow down, may i recommend the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Its a nice slow meditative exercise that deals with alot of things, it helps also with discernment, and discernment of spirits. But be patient, dont cheat, and dont look ahead…
and that is…

and where can i find this excercise…

you are very informative, and well disciplined in the borderline dangers…i thank you for your help.

Paris Blues:
Sorry didn’t mean to ask something that has nothing to do with what your intention was.😦

But while it was discussed, if angels do talk to us, it must be like we sense it or something. Or could it be our own thoughts? Who knows.
My GA also saved my life once (probably more times than I know but this one time I recall clearly). I had a dream once that I ran a red light and a bus ran into me. 2 weeks later I was approcahing red lights and didnt notice them, as I was getting closer to the intersection I heard a “STOP”, I slammed my brakes and what do you know, a bus came flying past! True story, scared the wits out of me! Many times I hear whispers in my ear (when I am asleep and trying to ake up) little things but the messages are important to me! Praise God for my GA! 👍

Several years ago I was working hard to train for the firefighter test for my city. I was encouraged by people I respected, but I was really doubtful of my abilities and the competetion for this test and to be hired. I was strongly considering just not continuing because I realized taht once I attained this goal…I was going to have to face up to even bigger fears and overcome some very great obstacles.

I was taking an afternoon nap while struggling with this issue, and just as I dropped off to sleep, I heard a voice harshly tell me, “DON’T LET YOUR FEAR DESTROY YOU!”

I woke up immediately, my heart racing. I was a non-practicing Catholic at the time, but I wasn’t an idiot and the sound of that voice terrified me…could it have been Satan?

But I realized there was truth there and the ONLY reason I was considering dropping this goal was fear of something which was not yet facing me.

I did go on, I kicked butt in the test, I was hired against ALL odds (Not to say I didn’t work hard for this; but hard work was no guarantee).

I did eventually have to face some pretty extreme fears, and I was able to overcome, and this actually helped bring me back to Christ…because it was he I leaned on in my worst fears: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

My guardian angel taught me a lesson by scaring me to death! I realized that I was ruled by my fears, and who is the author of fear?

Maybe that’s a complicated story, but not every gift from God comes in a well-wrapped and organized package. More often than not, his gifts are complicated and delivered with much strangeness.

I’ll never forget that heavenly advice, though, “Don’t let your fear destroy you.”

The spritual exercises can be found in book forn, from almost any library system, they may need to do an interlibrary loan, or you could pick it up at a good christian book store… the Jesuits put on retreats based on these exercises, consiering their founder wrote the book. i suggest you find someone to guide you with it, easiest being a Jesuit, and your journe will be on.
