This is a new thread on an old subject, Guardian Angels.

And this video is one of my favorite videos on any subject: Guardian Angels.

We’ve discussed both the subject and this particular video before, but I don’t think it will hurt to comment on them and make posts about them again. It’s a happy thing. 🙂

My Guardian Angel took years of patience to get me back into Mass. I have the best Guardian Angel. My Angel is so happy every time we go into Church

My Guardian Angel was watching over me on a few close ones; a bad car accident & being a pedestrian hit by a car.

If you have the best Guardian Angel, I have the second best! Mine has gotten me through a few bad situations and there was no reason I should have been alive but for him. I even told God last night how great Angel was and that a pay raise was in order!

Seen the video. He’s the best.

Once again a thread that made me wish we had a way to have a ‘like’ button or a way to vote on individual post replies! I’d like all of them on this thread.

Pat told me about that video before and I am so grateful.

Another CAF member told me recently about Peter Kreeft’s Angels and Demons.

Years ago I read a few books on angels, and they were not Catholic. The New Age was trying to profit off of our good friends the Angels. Be careful on YouTube and at the bookstore.

I read that Padre Pio could see his own guardian angel and those of others.
I wonder what my angel might look like.
I did a lot of bad or screwed up things in the past and was away from church for a long time. My angel must be a patient sort.

Me too. I was ‘away’ even when I sat in the pew during my youth. No good excuse, but I am so grateful for my grandmother’s prayers and for the faithfulness of my Guardian Angel!

I loved reading about Padre Pio in a book by Fr. Alessio Parente O.F.M. CAP. “Send Me Your Guardian Angel”

. . . 🙂
Watched/listened to roughly the first 20 minutes of the video . . . interrupted it only because I clicked on another of Fr. Ripperger’s videos on the side menu Spiritual Warfare Pt.1] and was so taken up by it that I watched the entire 2 hrs 26 min of it. Even in that particular video a member of his audience recommends Fr. Ripperger’s Guardian Angels video.

Thanks for the link Pat Albertson. I had never had a chance to listen to him before - an awesome resource- will be watching the remainder of the Guardian Angels video as soon as time permits.

Even in Spiritual Warfare, Fr. Ripperger laments the reality that not very many of us actually have a relationship with our Guardian Angel. We appear to receive a lot less encouragement in that direction these days . . . kind of like the voice of the world is trying to drown out the voice of our Guardian Angels. Yet our Guardian Angel is much more important to each of us than most Christians (and probably most Catholics today) realize.

St Faustina Kowalska’s life on earth was intertwined with many encounters with the holy Angels. Her own Guardian Angel spoke to her ; brought her to visit Purgatory. Several of these encounters of hers are mentioned on this page :St. Faustina Kowalska,in her rich spiritual experience, has many contacts with the Angels

Included in the events which occurred at the convent of the Seitai Hoshikai (Handmaids of the Holy Eucharist) on the outskirts of Akita, Japan beginning in 1973 , are Sister Agnes Sasagawa’s encounters with her own Guardian Angel - who is described as “huge.”

An excerpt from the book *Meetings With Mary *, by Janice T. Connell :
At that moment Sister Agnes saw a huge angel, radiant with white light. She remembers that she prayed fervently as she followed the angel to the chapel. Before entering,Sister Agnes asked,“Who are you.” The angel responded:
“I am your Guardian Angel. I am assigned to you from all eternity to guide you and care for you.”

. . . watched the remainder of the* Guardian Angels* video: really informative.
Thanks again for the link Pat Albertson.

Several excerpts on what the Popes have said about Guardian Angels from . O.F.M.
. . .All recent popes have confirmed and promoted the Church’s constant faith
in the angels. They themselves, lived in close, friendly, brotherly
contact with them. Here are some of their words and sentiments:
"I feel that he is here, close by, ready to help me. " To
visitors: “every day, morning and evening, pray to your guardian angel,
especially in difficulties.”
“We must unite with the holy angels; with them we must
become one great strong family in view of the times that are approaching
us!” . . .
(the pope of 30 days) as Bishop of Veneto: “Angels are
the great strangers in this time. It is necessary to speak much more about
them as ministers of providence in the government of the world and of
men”; “develop an intimate relationship with them.”
An excerpt from Pope John Paul II’s Catechesis on the Angels 1986 It provides a slightly different perspective on the Prayer to our Guardian Angel (green bolds [mine]) presenting it outside its rhyming context:
In this, we are powerfully helped by the good angels, messengers of God’s love, to whom, taught by the tradition of the Church, we address our prayer:
** “Angel of God, who are my guardian, enlighten, guard, govern and guide me, who have been entrusted to you by the heavenly goodness. Amen”.**
