hi everyone…

guess what i got for myself…

A ROSARY BRACELET !!!

i saw one on the internet …a wooded one on stretchy elastic and i thought that looks nice…

anyway i was walking past our local catholic/religious good shop when i got the urge to go in…i didn’t really have anything to go in for…so i just glanced at the prayercards and the books…then i looked at all the different rosaries…then i looked at all the different rosary bracelets…but they was all on chains…and were either too small to fit over my hand…and the ones with a clasp were too big and slipped off my hand…
anyway i was JUST about to leave when i saw it…a wooden rosary bracelet with a wooden cross on stretchy elastic…so i got it…

i wasn’t buying it to wear for fashion…i wanted it to help me pray…i have rosary beads and rosary rings…but you cant always use them in public…

since i purchased it…it has never been off my wrist except for when i shower…and i usually find it difficult to pray butsince i got the rosary bracelet…i have found it easier…even if i am saying a prayer of only a few words…i am encouraged to say a decade of them instead of just one…it reminds me to pray everytime i notice it…i have prayed so much more since i got it…
i’ve even started to pray a morning offering…

sorry for rambling on…i just wanted to share it with you all…maybe if any of you are having problems with your prayer life…maybe a rosary bracelet may help/encourage you…

I love mine, although I do wish that I had purchased a color that goes with anything…I got turquoise…

I think I know what you are referring to. A friend of mine has it too, and it can be used by male/female. It looks nice. If I have one, I would probably wear it - not for display or fashion, but it reminds me of praying more.
 
Thank you for sharing this. I think a rosary bracelet is an excellent idea to help us be more aware to praying anytime or place.👍

I will look into getting one soon. I have my eye on a pretty silver one.😉

I have a silver rosary bracelet and a necklace to match it. I can pray anytime I want to and nobody knows it except me and the Lord!😃
 
You’ve convinced me… I’ll make one and start wearing it, although I use wire for my rosaries. I do have one with a clasp on it to enable it to be worn around the neck.
 
I know exactly how you feel!!
When i buy something exciting like this and feel like ive been pulled towards it, i want to shout from the roof tops as well.
It just gives you the best warm and fuzzy feeling inside!

I absolutely love rosary bracelets! I previously had so many, but I’ve given a lot of them away to either family members or friends in need of a little reminder to pray the rosary. I still have a few though. I wear a glass beaded one that is jade in color, it’s beautiful. 🙂

You can find them all over www.ebay.com. I seem to find the best prices there. 😃

My husband said he sees these all over his job sites (He’s a construction worker), but he wanted something to help him pray the rosary while he uses both hands at work. With his bracelet or a rosary in his pocket, he looses count sometimes. :hmmm: He is working on inventing a pocket rosary that the beads move when you move them and stay in place, so that he gets his decades right. He’s “field testing” his invention this week, wish him luck!:tiphat:
 
we make these in RCIA, VBS, CCD, Confirmation classes, and when we get approval on choice of materials, we will be making them for the nursing home residents as well.

some are on wire with clips at each end, some on stretchy string, some on hemp with beade closure, depends on who it is for and who is making it.

Wow! We haven’t been able to find anything like that online or in stores. We went to our little monastery store and asked, and the monk looked at us like we were aliens.:rolleyes:

Could you post a link for those or directions for those?

if you scroll down the page after you click on the link…near to the bottom of the page is a lovely wooden rosary bracelet on elastic…that is the one i saw…that is the one that i wanted but then i saw a similar one in my local catholic/religious goods shop and got that instead…theres like an index on the left of the screen with more rosaries/ rosary bracelets etc…

i think the bracelets are brilliant…i wanted one on stretchy elastic because i would be afraid of breaking those that are made with chain…plus those that are made with chain either don’t fit over my hand…and the ones with clasps are too big…this one fits perfect…

i really like it because before i got it…i tried to pray but it seemed so hard…but now i say a morning offering every morning (something i didn’t do before)…i like saying lots of little prayers that are a few words long on my bracelet…but instead of just saying one …i look at the beads and feel encouraged to say a decade…i haven’t started saying the rosary on it yet (remember before i got it i was finding it hard to pray) but i do say all sorts of prayers on it …it really has helped me…

what made all of you get a rosary bracelet?..did you find it helped you pray more? what type do you wear? do you wear a chain or elastic?

i love how you can be in a room full of people and you can just discreetly touch the beads and say short prayers…my prayer life has improved since getting it

Some time ago now I read your thread; I didn’t know there was such a thing as a Rosary Bracelet nor what it looked like. I looked at the links showing the various Rosary Bracelets. I have always had a great desire to be able to pray the Rosary I love my Blessed Mother very much, but I have always prayed the Rosary in a way that is not the Traditional ten Hail Marys etc, I have prayed the Rosary with my life, I have lived the Prayer of the Gospel and offered this as a continuous Rosary. I have so desired to be able to pray the Rosary. It has been very painful not to be able to pray the Rosary.

The Sister in charge of my formation sent me a Rosary made from olive wood and from Bethlehem and she prayed I would be able to pray the Rosary. I have asked St Padre Pio that I might be able to pray the Rosary. I also have my red Confirmation Rosary beads hung over the head of my bed and all I have ever been able to do is hold the Cross in my hand and say ‘thank you Jesus’.

Today I walked into a second hand shop and there in amongst pointless jewelry was a Rosary Bracelet. I bought it for very little money. I slipped it on my wrist and for the first time I prayed one decade of the Sorrowful Mysteries.

I came to the forums tonight to thank you. You have prayed others may benefit as you have done and I am thankful to you and to God. To find that Rosary Bracelet amongst so much useless material items was a work of the Holy Spirit.

I had a wooden elastic Rosary bracelet that I wore all the time during my most recent pregnancy. I even took it into the hospital with me! But then I had to take it off for the IV and name bracelet and stuff, and my husband wore it. Unfortunately that also stretched out the elastic so it just falls off my hand now 😦 I have some elastic that I want to re-string it with. It was blessed and although it doesn’t look that pretty, it is very precious to me! I keep it on my bedside table and sleep with it under my pillow now. I have noticed a *decline *in my prayer life since I stopped wearing it. God bless you for sharing your testimony about the Rosary bracelet and encouraging me to get going with repairing my one! 🙂

i am so happy for you both that you are using a rosary bracelet…to anyone reading this they will probably be thinking ‘what is all the fuss about…it’s just a bracelet’…but it does make a difference…when you are finding it hard to pray and you say a prayer on the beads…it sort of encourages you to say more…
don’t get me wrong i still have my days when i find it hard to pray…but at least now i don’t let a day pass without praying at all…thanks to this bracelet i am able to pray better…
i wouldn’t say that my bracelet is the prettiest or fanciest either…it is just wood…but it is nice to me…and no one else but god (and myself) knows what is really means to me…to any onlooker it is just a bracelet…or if they look real close they will see it is a rosary bracelet…but only god and myself know the reason why i wear it and the help it gives me in praying…

Yes, you are so right! I think that just having the constant reminder of feeling and seeing the Rosary on your wrist every moment of the day reminds one to pray more, too! I really want to re-string mine today! Just like you, it’s not a very pretty bracelet, but it means so much to me. It was given to me by a family whose house we visited with Our Lady of Fatima pilgrim statue, while we were still active members of the Legion of Mary and just before we found out we were expecting our second child. That whole pregnancy was an intensely spiritual time for me, and I grew quite a bit in my faith during that time.
 
If you go to The Rosary Shop you can design your own rosary bracelet. I have one made from freshwater pearls and you can also customize it to make sure it fits correctly.
