Hi, I’ve been pondering the thought of where I can find guidance for married couples that through circumstance are separated for lengths of time,in my case up to 10 months apart as one of us gains visa to relocate countries.
So many graces have come from offering up the hardship of being apart but as you can imagine the pining to be with a loved one has to be experienced to be understood fully of the pain there 😦 Not for the feint hearted.
With long distance relationships and then marriage becoming more and more common
via the internet ,there must be material written from a Catholic perspective to give practical and spiritual help to those in these circumstances such as my own.The priests I have spoken with know that the best thing is for husband and wife is to be together, but are at a bit of a loss as to giving practical advice.
Code:
If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful :)
           Thanks and God bless.

P.s …who would be the Patron Saint of husbands and wives separated by circumstances such as gaining visas, war, work etc?
Maybe we will have a new one for long distance relationships and marriages occurring from the internet? 🙂

You can keep in touch by setting up regular video calls with Skype.

Having recently survived a 3 1/2 month stint apart due to work requirements you have my sympathies…even if I may not be able to offer much constructive advice aside from the obvious…hang in there!

Sure. Try this idea.
Find a local priest who is a chaplain for military personnel and ask them advice on your situation. They have the insight, knowledge and experience to help.
