Guitar book

My wife and I are learning how to play the guitar, and we’re looking for a good Catholic songbook with chords and tabs (for picking). Does anyone know of a good one?
 
We used the Glory and Praise series at our church several years ago. It has the chords over the music but no tabs. We now use As One Voice. The guitar accompaniment has the guitar chords, melody and selected instrumental parts.

Frank Anderson’s Eagles Wings is nice. He has put out several books which also have the psalms to music. I have one book with the Psalms for Year B, Eagles Wings, and Everything I Possess. It is handwritten so it is a little hard to read. There is also a smaller guitar edition of each which would be more useful for someone starting out. We also use Eagle’s Wings and Everything I Possess at Mass.

Thanks, but I couldn’t find these on Amazon.com. Where did you get them?
 
Look at your hymnals title page. Find the company and see about ordering the guitar addition. I know OCP and GIA both make one. You would have to order from them, though.

I encourage everyone who is learning to play to make sure you play a lot of stuff you like. It makes it much easier to practice as much as you need to develop finger memory.
 
I got mine from Pellegrini bookshop, 858 Hay St., Perth, Western Australia. Probably not much help to you. But here are some sites I found.

I have, I guess; a statement of thanks!!! For the past while, as a member of the music ministry in my parish, (folk group) I have (by some in the congregation) been made to feel like a second class catholic because I like the guitar rather than the organ. Thanks for not doing the same

The guitar is a beautiful part of the music ministry! We have a great guitarist in our church band. I hope to learn guitar well enough to be part of it myself.
