Not to derail the subject but I wonder how many of those American “Catholics” are faithful, Church attending, Catholics and not just ones that identify as Catholic and don’t go to Mass or attend only on Christmas and Easter. That is the statistic I would be interested in seeing. 😉

That is why when people/groups sample Catholics, they would ask how often they attend Church. I know once baptized and Confirmed into the Church you are Catholic but if you don’t attend or barely attend how Catholic are you really? I know I fell into that group for a long time, not the SS Marriage, but the not attending. Not these days though, I only miss if I am sick or stuck at work, which is rare.

You should listen to your wife and help her understand it is just a tool and can be kept and handled safely. Don’t go behind her back but help her to understand that they are useful tools for hunting, sport and/or protection. You two have to agree together on decisions. That does.mean you can’t layout the facts and try to educate her about firearms in a charitable way. I would stay away from the world is going to hell in a handbasket or whatever it was, that wont help you, lol. 😉
Discard these thoughts that the world is allegedly going to hell or the idea that guns will make you safer. They don’t. They make you less safe.
I strongly disagree with this part of what you said, but you are free to think as you want 😉😊

Who is “they?” It can only refer to a radical leftist government, since a conservative government would never order the disarmament of the American people.
Many if not most US Military personnel and LEO’s tend conservative. So who is going to enforce this disarmament?

Further action must be taken to prevent the horrible and saddening school shootings that we hear about so regularly. No child should have to feel unsafe in a learning environment which is suppose to be a safe-space

I suppose everyone heard about the recent incident in Colorado with the 18 year old girl flying to Denver and making it clear she wanted to reinact the Columbine massacre?

Two of my grandkids spend weeknights with me as their mom works night shift, so I wake up Monday morning with my grandson telling me there is no school due to crazy lady with a gun wanting to kill kids!

School was cancelled. So sad😢

When I was in HS three years ago, we had multiple shooting threats and bombing threats. We did active shooter drills. One person got arrested for attempted bombing massacre, and terroristic intentions

There can be very serious consequences to violating firearms laws. I don’t recommend it.

That being said, when every second counts, the police are only minutes away.

I have less and less faith in police and government every day, and there could very well be some very choppy seas ahead. Troubling times we live in.

Buddy buddy, walk with me a second. I know you feel you have that right and to a degree, I agree with you. However, let me tell you this… whatever weapon you have, they have tactics and weapons that outclasses you at every turn. You want to hold them off at gunpoint you are playing a losing game.
Ruby Ridge comes to mind.

I think you missed my point. I was agreeing with you.

It as one family against the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team, which was superior in firepower to the Weaver family. Two people died in that standoff.

You realize there will be gun friendly space colonies too, right?

As someone who is literally the last line of defense in an industry that has been used since it’s inception to commit acts of terror and continues to be a target. My service weapon maybe all that stands between the flight deck and another 9/11.

You can’t stop it otherwise no one would have heard of 9/11 to begin with.

People from the US seem to be under the impression that gun controlled countries ban all guns everywhere. The controls are designed to prevent proliferation in the general community. That’s where all the massacres and murders are happening. Not in the highly regulated and trained services.
