@Leo2014

I was born in Oklahoma and lived there until I was 28.

Timothy McVeigh blew up the Murrah Federal Building Oklahoma City in revenge for the Branch Davidian siege in Waco. He blew up a truck loaded with ammonium nitrate to blow the side out of the building. Guns were not involved.
  • If there would not have been a Waco, I would have put down roots somewhere and not been so unsettled with the fact that my government … was a threat to me. Everything that Waco implies was on the forefront of my thoughts. That sort of guided my path for the next couple of years.
    • Letters published in the Buffalo News (10 June 2001).
His inspiration was “The Turner Diaries,” which calls for the violent overthrow of the government.

Does the Catholics bible and Catechism not both literally say “thou shall not kill”? How else would I read it?

The Turner Diaries also promotes the conspiracy theory that liberals are trying to take guns away from everyone.

You’ve already been informed, many times.
This concludes our dialogue. Have a blessed day.

I can read though and words have meanings. Stop trying to gaslight me. It literally says “thou shall not kill”.

As to your other point, gun deaths aren’t statistical anomalies. However, mass shootings are a fraction of gun violence.

This information comes from the National Institute of Justice:
Gun-related homicide is most prevalent among gangs and during the commission of felony crimes.

Did you read the direct documented quotes from McVeigh about his motive? He was angry about Waco.

On June 9, 2001, the New York Times ran an article titled “Behind a Book That Inspired McVeigh.”
“The Turner Diaries” … described the bombing of the F.B.I. headquarters with a homemade truck bomb. … Excerpts from the novel were found in Mr. McVeigh’s getaway car.
Do you still want to maintain the connection between the OKC bombing and guns?

Yes. McVeigh was a pro-gun activist and thought that the federal government was going to takes guns away from everyone.

The Turner Diaries describes a fictional federal government that bans guns and then white nationalists overthrow the US and kill all the non white people just to get their guns back.

@PhiriTalk

Is it an unrelated coincidence that McVeigh blew up the Federal Building in OKC with an ammonium nitrate truck bomb – an event included in the “Turner Diaries”? Please respond to this specific comment without dragging in unrelated information.

How is was what I said irrelevant? Timothy McVeigh’s motives are well documented.

The Oklahoma City bombing had nothing to do with guns. It was about Waco and the branch davidians.

I enjoyed target shooting. It’s a sport where your competition is yourself.
I find it equalizing…my husband and his friends have been shooting their whole lives. I was 21 when I fired my first shot and within a year I was better than all of them. Was all full of myself until I learned that women are usually better shots than men. Harrumph! Thought it was my superior natural ability alone! 😂

I enjoy competition against myself much more than team or one one one competitions and shooting fits it to a T.
