Jesus allowed Simon Peter to bring a sword with him to Gethsemane and you don’t peel grapes with a sword. They were for battle or defense and were the most modern weapon at the time. If guns were around, Peter probably would have carried a Smith and Wesson.

I could see Peter with a 1911.

My middle son is a Cop and sadly, that saying is’t as old or humorous as one would think.

The one that told me that saying his two sons are both cops.

As for hunting, in some areas hunting is the main (if not the only) source of meat.

I’m ones that can see Peter with a gun, what type, I don’t know.

Here’s something that has puzzled me for a long time, and maybe some of the older members could tell me what they think.

Years ago, it seems there were far fewer gun regulations/laws on the books, and more people owned guns. Today, it’s harder to get a gun, and it seems that there is more gun violence. Is it reporting, or just not what it seems?

Nope, it’s just now that it’s harder to get guns, the only one’s who have guns are criminals. Something so simple, but liberal minds cannot comprehend.

Actually, gun laws have been loosened up quite a bit. Once you demonstrate that you can legally own a firearm. All you have to do, is lay your money down, and make your choice.

All but one state, has some sort of concealed carry permit law. Some, like Michigan, will allow you to “open carry” without a permit. Provided the pistol has been registered. (I believe the regestration is on it’s way out as we speak).

Violent crime, those that are reported anyway. Have traditionally gone up and down. Currently, they are on a downward trend. According to FBI stats. I like to think this is the result of private gun ownership. But, who knows.

Well I just remember what a inmate said when he was told about gun-bans reducing crime. He never laughed so hard and he said “yes please do that, you’ll only be making my job easier.” when confronted with the fact that if he was free he wouldn’t be able to purchase a gun, he laughed again and said “you think we’re stupid enough to buy a registered gun, so the cops know who we are? We get our guns from the street.” When confronted what would happen when the street won’t have as many guns on it, he simply paused and said “Well I know the cops have guns on them, all I gotta do is kill one cop and I have a gun…no matter what I’m going to get my guns cause I don’t give a [censored].”

It made me re-think about the effectiveness of gun bans.

Ha,ha. Shows you what he knows. (I tell you, the quality of criminal minds has really deteriorated over the years) Felons cannot be required to register their firearms. It would cause them to incriminate themselves.
