I thought I made it clear that you can’t know about a woman’s fertility medically unless it’s tested. .
While I agree with everything you said, I found this sentence very funny. You made it clear? Well than, that settles it. As long as you can clear it up for us, we’re not in the dark! Thanks! 😉

If it were my friend…

I would ask him how he would feel if he found a woman with large breasts, he married her, then she lost one or both to breast cancer and she chose not to do reconstruction.

What would you say to a male friend who says he has a really good gf but he wants a girl with bigger breasts or something?
Does beauty really matter? Beauty fades, the body decays. Lust such as yours corrupts even the most well-intended relationship. There is no sense in leaving someone because their breasts aren’t “big enough.” Compatibility is met on the personality level, not on the physical. Breast implants are vain. In short, I agree with the second comment in: GROW UP! I’m a late-teenage (18) male and I even see this (hopefully hypothetical) person’s stupidity.

OP, do you have an update for us?

To answer your question (I’m a woman), I’d say:

“- Why is the size of her chest suddenly mattering more to you now than her being a really good gf? Is it that you want a Pamela Anderson-type on your arm so you can be “da man”? If so, you’re an [expletive] and don’t deserve your really good gf let her loose to holy men who’d be lucky to have her.”

Or

“Is it that it’s some complicated biological thing - like you know what turns you on and you’re afraid you can’t complete the marital act because of this issue - well, talk to a priest and see if you ever get married if particular clothing enhancers are appropriate and helpful.”

And
  • “How would YOU like it if a woman told you that you were a great partner, but sorry, size matters?”

I really think that the male equivalent for this situation is not a guy who looks this hot, or fills the crotch of his pants, but rather a guy who makes X amount of money. I have been there, fresh out of college, when I dated a girl who mentioned matter of factly how much I would need to make, for us to have a family. Btw, she was a nice Christian girl, and didn’t come across as insulting. I think she was just being realistic. And I broke up with her, because I was planning to eek out a living as a scientist, and I knew that scientists in my area didn’t make that amount of money.

:rotfl:

That was a good one, thanks for the laugh!

:tiphat: 😃

And maybe draw his attention to the wonders small pills like Viagra can make, for biologically challenged guys like him… 😛

While I am not going to judge anyone for their personal choices, are we surprised that so many people go insane and have mental problems when those that are less attractive or even those with a few unattractive qualities physically keep getting turned down? I always wonder how bad it feels for the less attractive because they had no control over their looks most of the time and even if they did, we are more accepting and forgiving of a woman that sleeps around than for one that may eat too much or not exercise enough.

What is worse is that superficiality is so bad that people will go to great extremes and become so attached to that ideal that it prevents them from ever finding happiness in this world. Divorce is so high precisely because we are a superficial people.

You raise a good point there.

One Word

The one word is “SHALLOW.”

But let me tell you. It is not just men who are shallow. It applies to women, as well. Physical features, like height, weight, dimensions, dentition, or complexion are not important aspects of an enduring relationship.

It seems like everyone, men and women both, wants a mate in the top 5% for physical freatures. The men demand beautiful women with large breasts, and the women insist on tall, handsome men.

The great majority of single people, and single Catholics, do not look like movie stars. And we all know about the marital success statistics of movie stars, don’t we?

I get up a big head of steam about this, because it is such a huge demonstration of poor human judgment.

We do ourselves no favors, when we let skin-deep characteristics shape our mate selections.

I don’t know if I consider it ‘shallow’. Looks/appearances matter, but they shouldn’t be the #1 determining factor in a relationship.

Being healthy definitely is an important part of an enduring relationship. If two average people marry and after 10 years one person gains 20lbs and the other gains 100lbs…that is a problem and will put a strain on the relationship as well as cause health problems. Maybe they will still love one another the same, but what happens when one gets diabetes or heart disease, or has really bad knees and can’t play with the kids, or do a reasonable share of things around the house. These are all side affects of extreme weight gain.

*Nah, women like to be with attractive men, who dress and smell nicely…(whatever their type might be) and who are masculine, and take care of their bodies. Money helps. ha But, women are into chemistry also, it’s just not as pronounced as men’s visual natures. But, I had chemistry with my husband…if we didn’t…he could have had as much money as Bill Gates, it wouldn’t have mattered. There has to be that spark between men and women when dating…it’s not just something men need or require. *

*I don’t think it should shape one’s ‘‘mate selection,’’ definitely not…but there needs to be that special something…that chemistry that sort of gets the interest of two people off the bat. And that can take into it much more than mere physical qualities such as…being Catholic, humor, intellect, wit, responsible nature, morality, etc…to me, my husband looked the part that I liked, BUT…he was/is very cerebral, and was a practicing Catholic. So…for each person, it might be different. But the Catholic and cerebral part to me, made him very attractive. I think that many people (and I’ve seen it in threads here) overlook the person’s religion, like being Catholic doesn’t matter, as long as he/she is attractive. So, it’s not something that happens ONLY outside Catholic circles. :o It’s a human issue, really.

I hear what you’re saying though…*

Wow, that’s shallow. Tell him to appreciate what he has. Bigger breasts don’t make the girl what she is, her personality does. And since he thinks she is a good gf, then she probably has a great personality. If he doesn’t change his mind then that girl deserves better…

What would you say to a male friend who says he has a really good gf but he wants a girl with bigger breasts or something?
I’d say, “grow up.” That’s really a pretty disrespectful thing to say about someone you supposedly care about. I’ll bet the girl would be angry and hurt to know that he feels that way. How would he like it if the tables were turned, and she went around saying that he’s a really great bf, but she wishes he were packing more in his pants?

As others have said, even a Pamela Anderson body will age and sag, and there is always the possibility of disfigurement from cancer or a bad car crash or whatever. It’s what’s on the inside that counts, although there is nothing wrong with seeking a compatible partner whom you also find attractive. And if you yourself are a fitness freak, you will want a partner who is fit, simply because it would be a lifestyle issue and a priority that you share in common. Anyone who is dating someone they find unattractive to the point of being repulsive needs to stop dating that person and set them free to find someone who will love them just the way they are.

I knew a gal who got breast implants solely because her (now ex) husband wanted her to have bigger breasts. He was a total jack@$$, and he was abusive, self-centered, and obnoxious. He was not a kid, either; they were in their 30’s at the time. So after she got the boob-job, he wanted her to parade around in immodest outfits just so everyone could see how “hot” his wife was. So, against her own wishes (and conscience), she first allowed herself to undergo a violation of her body through the surgery, and then she ran around dressed like a tart just to please him (partially out of fear for her own safety). I’m just sorry that she didn’t realize sooner rather than later what a loser he was, before she married him in the first place. I certainly hope your friend isn’t cut out of the same cloth!
